Farmer's Market , Visits with Mom

Saturday, we got our morning walk and then ventured out to the downtown Farmer's market.  We got some wonderful tomatoes, pinto beans, onion and cucumber grown at a hydroponic farm in Deming.
We also stopped to take notice of the renovation that has been done on the Rio Grande theater.  It has been there since 1926, although I can not ever remember it operating as a theater.  It was acquired and renovated by the Dona Ana Arts Council and now serves as a venue for numerous performances.
We did not get to see much of the inside. But the detail on the entrance that has been restored gives a hint to what can be expected.  Hopefully, we can catch a performance there one day and see it all.
We had lunch at a new spot - Main Street Bistro and ale house.  We both thought it was very good. They had lots of beer on tap mostly from NM brewers-Good stuff.

We see mom every day.
We continue to be happy with the care that she is getting. The other day she danced into the director's office while he was meeting with his staff.  They all stopped to clap and dance with her and it was pretty clear it was not for my benefit.  The dance routine was too well practiced.

It is a tough situation but as mom has always done- she makes the best of it.  We are lucky - that is just her nature.

  1. The entrance to the theater is beautiful. Hope you'll be able to check out the inside as well.

Glad you're mom is doing well and is making the best of the situation. That makes it a little easier for her and helps take some of the stress off of you.

  4. I love to see old theaters rescued. We had one from the 20's in our home town that is simply gorgeous now. Hope you do get inside. Love the story of your mom dancing in and they all dance with her. What a great place this must be. And how relieved you must be to know she is being given such good a sensitive care. Rather rare unfortunately.
