Things got better quickly when we got in the park. We were greeted by this Proghorn mama and twins as we drove into the park.
Bryce is just spectacular.
We started by driving up to the top of Rainbow point.
We drove back down stopping at most turn outs and view points.
We had a picnic lunch along the way.
From the bottom of the canyon, you can really gain an appreciation for the wonder of how the canyon was formed.
It took millions of years of water and wind. It was a really fun hike. There was a group of choir students hiking with us. They serenaded us with several tunes as we traversed the switchbacks on the hike. Doe a deer, a female deer, ray a drop of golden sun.........:)
It was a truly great day. I can't believe it took me 35 years to get back here.
Bryce is a truly magical place.
Tomorrow we move on to Zion!
Gorgeous pictures of one of my very favorite places. You sure are hitting the high spots, Arches, Bryce Zion. Are you going to climb Angel's Landing??
ReplyDeleteNot sure yet. It is going to be hot!
DeleteI think being serenaded by the soundtrack to the Sound of Music while hiking the canyon sounds just about perfect :)
ReplyDeleteThe picture of you two standing near the ledge made me cringe. You're braver than I would be!
ReplyDeleteOur Nissan truck sometimes locks on it's own. We don't know why, but we try to always have a key or a window down. Our other Nissan did the same thing.
That's a wonderful picture of you both! Christmas card picture?
ReplyDeleteGot to LOVE the Hoo Doos!!! Great pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteTerrific photos of Bryce Canyon - definitely on my to-do list now!
