The Breeze did great over Raton Pass. However, we did unhook before tackling the steep grades on 1-70 west of Denver. The engine brake did its job (even on an 8% grade- no downshifting necessary). We could have stayed hooked up until our exit. The road up to the campground was reported to be windy with several hairpin turns and it was. So, we decided just to unhook a bit early and not strain the rig.

Can you tell us the name of the campground? I'll be heading for Casa Grande, AZ, when I leave MN in September, and I'm looking for good suggestions of places along the way to stay.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice trip:o)) The view is spectacular and 66 degrees how cooooool ;o)
ReplyDeleteWe're headed to Colorado and the Denver area around August. Please say the temperatures will be as nice as those.
ReplyDeleteAwesome site! Enjoy the view!
ReplyDeleteVery smart to unhook just in case. You can't be too careful in those CO mountains. They bring new meanings to the word "Steep".
ReplyDeleteSunny and 66 sounds great to me!
ReplyDeleteOne of the casinos in CC has a brewery.
ReplyDelete66 degrees sounds sooooo nice.
ReplyDeletePat told me to tell you they might sell their Honda Element and you had expressed interest in it previously.
Sometimes going downhill can be more difficult than going up - glad to hear you had no trouble with either.
ReplyDeleteSo far I never get tired of the mountain views. Enjoy!
