Yesterday, I decided to try a little fishing in the river. I cast a few out there and caught nothing but some old line left by someone else.
This guy did not seem to be catching any fish either. Although I think he looked more like he knew what he was doing than I did. We caught up on some chores and just hung around the rig. Our only venture out was just down the road for some home made peach ice cream- mmmmmm.
Today, we started with a long walk along ranch road 1. I took pictures of the bison and the longhorns. It was a really nice cloud covered day. We actually got to bring up the shade on our front window- very nice
We headed into town and had lunch at the Buffalo Nickel. I had a pulled pork sandwich and Catherine had the portobello sandwich. Both were good. We shopped around a bit and then went to the drugstore and got our flu shots- ouch.
We got some good news yesterday. We signed up for a habitat for humanity build in Las Cruces ( Oct 28- Nov 11) as RV Care A Vanners and we were accepted. So, we will travel back to home base for a while and then head to Las Cruces for about a month for the build and to spend Thanksgiving with my family. We have our travels through March 4 carved in play dough :)
Always good not to have plans carved in cement! :)
ReplyDeleteThe comment about plans carved in play dough made me giggle! So good that you can be flexible!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder about flu shots! And enjoy your time volunteering.
ReplyDeleteContests on the Habitat build. Always nice to give back.
ReplyDeleteGood for you both for volunteering on the Habitat build, it sure is a worthwhile project.
ReplyDeleteNice pics of the Bison.
You did better at fishing than I would have. At least you caught some old line. Me? I would have lost my hook.
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting, the upcoming build. Looking forward to seeing how that works out, we're considering doing some of that kind of volunteer work, too.
Drive a nail for us! It's a very worthwhile cause, one that we may try to do in the future.
ReplyDeleteSyl and Gin
My plans aren't even carved in play dough although I do remember making it and loving to squish it through my fingers when it was warm! You two will look great in overalls with hammers in your hands!
