Farmer's Market, Football

We headed out yesterday morning for the Farmer's Market at the Pearl Brewery complex.  It was a good market.  There was not as much produce as we expected but lots of unique vendors. We came away with some okra, black-eyed peas, mushrooms (Shitake and Portobello), flowers and a really nice blackberry peach chipolte sauce.

They also had some good food vendors, including a guy gearing up to make chicken and waffles.  I have seen them on TV but never tasted them. If we go back next week, we will go later and I will have to give that a try.
We picked up some pizza and headed out to share them with our friends Barbara and Jan.  They have a nice place in the hills just west of SA.  We saw some deer on the way to their house. We had a nice relaxing afternoon.
It started raining early this morning and has been raining slow and steady all day.  It is  just the kind of rain this area really needs.  We can't watch football outside but that's OK.  It is a perfect day for hanging out in the coach and I can watch two games at once inside Phiona :). We have the windows open and the air is fresh and cool.
Although if it does not stop raining soon, I may have to dig out the kayak and blow it up - just in case.

  5. I've heard of chicken and waffles before but never had them. Oddly enough, that combination sounds kind of good.

  6. Two football games at once??? You really are a hardcore football fan. Or maybe it was from all the beer you enjoyed that gave you double vision??? ;c)
