Step Fixed,Beer and Friends

Wednesday, we got Phiona's step fixed.  While our home was in the shop, we took Grace in for a haircut.  She was finished just before Phiona- perfect timing.  She looks really pretty but I don't think she cares for the bows.
The step problem was a short in the motor- not a big deal.
Yesterday, we decided to check out central markets "Expand your Brewniverse" promotion- 25% off beer.  That's got my attention.  We were a little early and they did not have all the samples out.  However, they did have gingerbread made with stout. That was wonderful.  We were afraid to buy it.  We might have eaten it all in one sitting :).

Last night,we headed out to The Dodging Duck Brewhaus in Boerne to meet Dave and Maxine, The Wandering Wingers, who are spending some time in Texas.
We saw them last winter in Deming and went to the local Deming Brew pub.  So, it seemed appropriate to try another brew pub.  Maybe we can make this a tradition :).

It is always good to see them.  As Catherine puts it "they have great energy".  They take things as they come and enjoy life.

We enjoyed filling each other in on our spring and summer adventures.  They spent time in California and we explored more of Texas.
The food and beer were both OK.
We all thought the Pecan Ale was the best offering.  Dave gave me a suggestion for our low voltage problem in Garden City.  He has a voltage regulator, which will boost the voltage up to 10%.  Since this is not a problem that will go away anytime soon,  I am thinking, it will be worth the investment.  He recommended the Hughes- Autoformer.  I will investigate that today.
Speaking of today- not much on tap.  Catherine is getting her toes done and I am going to the grocery store. We are visiting friends again tomorrow for Pizza and football. Have a great weekend.

  1. I think I'm seeing a pattern here, you love to support the beer brewing industry. :c)

The Hughes autoformers work good, but they are expensive. Make sure you have a strong chain and lock if you buy one. :cO

  2. Grace does not look happy with the bows! So good to catch up with other RVers, isn't it?

  3. Awww -- poor Grace. It's tough being a purty princess, isn't it? :-)

Always fun to have a brewski with friends. We met the Gypsy Turtles at that same place in Boerne last Spring.

  4. And the Gypsy Turtles enjoyed the good company of Mike and Terri at theDodging Duck :)
Really enjoyed the town itself...will be back.
Will be interested in your autoformer decision. We've thought about it too but so far only have needed it in a couple places...not sure it would be cost effective for us. Also heavy to haul around.

  5. I like Grace's bows. I think she looks darling. Beautiful actually. Great hair cut Grace. Wish I looked that good after giving myself a flowbee. Maybe I need to make an appointment with your hairdresser instead. If she saw me, she'd think I was a dog.

  6. I loved Grace's bows and she indeed looked pretty, but her expression made me laugh out loud.

  7. One of my all time favourite schemes that I thought would be a great RV road trip, would be to hit all the micro breweries in Ontario. (Canada...not California) I think there are something like 18 or 20. Some of them don't exactly have good RV parking though, so that would be a consideration.
Good road trip though. Two a day? Only one a day? Not sure.
