We left Lazydays about 1:30. We hooked up the car to make sure everything worked, even though we were only going 15 miles up the road. It all went fine, except the guy who purchased our friends Kim and Mike's trade-in wanted to talk to me the whole time I hooked up and I had to keep stopping to ensure I had done everything correctly. Ok, all hooked up and ready.
We made it to Quail Run in about 30 minutes. We picked out a nice spot.
We get ready to back in and Catherine says " I am just going to pull in to the empty spot ahead of us and back in." I say " We should practice doing it the way the instructor taught us" - you can see where this is going right :)
I notice there is a lamp post that might get in her way. I say "watch out in front of you". Unfortunately, the lamp post was in line with the right mirror and she did not see it. She "kissed it" . The good news is: Phiona was not damaged - a tiny scuff. The lamp post did not fair as well :(
We had the Suncrusier 4 1/2 years and only hit one thing. So, I figure, we are good for at least 4 1/2 years. We have added the extra step of me walking in front of the coach to let her know if there is anything she should watch out for to the backing procedure.
Life - it is just one "learning experience"" after another. We are just one space down from Karen and Al. They were napping and missed all the excitement.
We are all set up and will be here at least a couple of weeks.
Well, you got that first ding out of the way, so you're good to go! :)
ReplyDeleteLike Judy said, it's always nice to get that first bump out of the way and over with.
ReplyDeleteI carry a tube of scratch remover for some reason. Strangely enough, it's more than half empty...
ReplyDeleteI'd never admit it, but there is a fence at a KOA in Wyoming that was standing when I arrived, but wasn't after I left. :cO
Ooops. Well at least Phiona only got a teeny tiny owie.
ReplyDeleteDang...I hate that we missed all the excitement!!
ReplyDeleteI remember Winnona's first boo boo. Wish it had been only a scratch. But it was a low site marker IN FRONT. Too bad for the Quail Run light pole. See you when we get back. Maybe we should call this the Florida gathering and invite folks to 'come on down' and summer in the heat with us. :-)))
ReplyDeleteThey might as well. It is hot everywhere.
DeleteOoops is right. Things do happen. Thank goodness it was a small scratch!!!
ReplyDeleteOops! Glad her first booboo was a little one.
ReplyDeleteOH!! So sorry Phiona got a boo boo;o(( But glad all is well and you learned something from the experience!!
ReplyDeleteWish we could head down as you are right...it is hot everywhere. Enjoy your new home and we'll see you at down the road!!
Oh, I made the vegan cookies and they are fantastic!!
