I caught the Tiffin rep and let him know I expected him to replace both the HDMI and Component cables in the coach. He did not give me much argument so I am sure this is another "known issue." I am a little surprised at some of these issues but happy that Tiffin agrees to fix them without a fuss. Looks like we may be here a little longer.....
Our new crown club friends, Kim and Mike, just found out that their home property in Popular Bluff, Missouri got hit by a tornado yesterday. They are hoping to head for home early tomorrow, if everything is ok with their new coach. That, and what Sherry and David are facing, helps give perspective. If our TV is our worst problem - we are truly blessed. It is annoying, but it can be fixed....
See you down the road...
WHEW....when I saw the title I thought OH NO!! So glad it's a couple of wires that they didn't give you any crap about fixing. Don't you wish they would do these things without your having to ask since they KNOW it's a problem?
ReplyDeleteI suppose having your home hit by a tornado when you are in it is worse than when you are gone but what a terrible problem to have when you are so far away.
Thanks again so much for your visit, your generosity and the goodies. Send the recipe Catherine....pretty PLEASE! You guys are the best!!
That problem is a new one on me. Interesting that it's caused by the wrong cable. Just another example of a cost cutting measure by a manufacturer that backfired.
ReplyDeleteI'd hate to think you'd have to go to Red Bay to get it fixed, here's hoping Lazy Days come thru quickly.
I really don't know what's up with the rainbow of colors. I thought the pink screen when hooked to HDMI was a handshake problem... Hopefully you just have two bad cables. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful!
ReplyDeleteGin
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the manufacturer is using some kind of 'splitter' on those cables. That will often foul up a satellite connection pretty quick.

ReplyDeleteGood luck on the cable thingy. There are so many cable cables winding through these walls it scares me that something will rattle lose and need to be troubleshot. I think it could be a nightmare! Glad to hear Tiffin is taking care of it.
ReplyDeleteThose Phaetons do have a few known problems but so does a first date but we somehow manage to even get past that... :)
ReplyDeleteSorry about the cable problems. But your perspective on the issue is a good one. I hate that we have friends going through tough times, but it does make the little things seem much less important!! I'm with Sherry, we need the banana oatmeal snacky thing recipe also!!
ReplyDeleteYes - recipe please! I could be of absolutely no help on anything electronic related! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had any of those types of problems with our Traveler Directv antenna that Lazy Days installed, so I can't help you. I'm sure LD can get it figured out though.
ReplyDeleteJust keep enjoying that "free camping" until they get everything resolved!
