The sun returned yesterday. We got out early to hike Enchanted Rock. Unlike last week, we had the place to ourselves. The park ranger said they had 37,000 visitors in 10 days. Good for Texas State Parks revenue (which is hurting) but not my kind of visit. We started out on the Loop trail with a plan to hike around the park and then climb the summit. We saw some more spring flowers.
We also found a natural bridge. Maybe we don't need to go to Utah this summer?
OK, it is a little on the small side :) The view from the top was beautiful and green! It was a bit windy up there.
There was also a little green grass at the top, along with some water from the recent rains.
It was a great hike. With the exception of hiking to the summit, we saw very few people on our 4 mile hike. As we were walking to the car......
A very large school group arrived for a day a the park. A great field trip for them, but we are glad we were finished. We got a nice bluebonnet picture on the way home. I decided it was time to have a new header pic- what do you think?
See you down the road....:)
Ah, you escaped the noise just in time. Looks like a great hike! I agree though that the arch probably can't compete with Arches. :-)
ReplyDeleteAs for the header picture it's FABULOUS! Love those Bluebonnets. Can't wait to see them .....some day.
37,000 visitors in 10 days -- that's some serious traffic!
ReplyDeleteLove the new header!
That is a great new header picture. I'm always missing those great flower blooms. One of these days I'll get the hang of it.
ReplyDeleteGood that you missed all the people, that is some attendance figure.
Love the header pic! Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful...Love it!
ReplyDeleteNice Hike!!
ReplyDeleteLove the new header...blue is my favorite color ;o))
