Back in Texas, Murphy strikes again!

We left Las Cruces about 10:30 AM, headed for Van Horn.  That is late for us but we wanted to arrive after 3pm.  The campground office is closed from 12-3 and we needed propane.  About 5 miles out of Las Cruces, Catherine says "uh oh".  I never like to hear those words.  "Something is flapping" she says and pulls over.  Just as she does, the access door to our water heater takes flight.  It gets run over but thankfully did not hit a vehicle.  I guess it was not latched properly. The last time I remember opening it, we were in Tampa- in July- another item for the departure list!

I picked it up and have gotten it back on. But, it is in sad shape.  I have already ordered  a new one from PPL in Houston ( great parts place- by the way)  It only comes in white, but I can spray paint it black and it will look fine.  The coach has black striping and lots of black accents.  As Stacy London says on "What Not To Wear", " It does not have to match, it just has to go"

Then, to top it off,we got to the park and they couldn't fill our propane tank, because the guy who does it has the day off today. Really? OK,  we will fill up with propane in the morning.
It is a really nice evening.  The temps are perfect and the mountains are beautiful.  Its all good....

  1. I was lucky enough to catch the wind opened hot water heater door when I left NC before it blew away. Just another one of those things that happens!

  4. When I read the title I wasn't saying Uh Oh, I was saying OH NO! And then Whew! Glad it wasn't anything worse. Love your attitude especially "it doesn't have to match it just has to go". Righty-O!!

  6. Glad to hear it wasn't a super-expensive problem - more of an annoying one. Those water heater flaps are kind of flimsy.

LOL: "It doesn't have to match, it just has to go." Love it!

  8. Wow, you have to get Murphy off your tail! At least it's an "easy" fix. I got a good laugh out of your Stacy London quote, I'll have to remeber that the next time Murphy strikes me.

Oh wait he just did, my windshield cracked today as we were driving. Grr!
