We just hung out and watched football on Sunday-all our teams won - yeah! Monday, we took a tour around NMSU. I was not a very good tour guide. There are lots of new buildings since I graduated. The old Biology building, on the right, was still there. I spent lots of hours in that building. Tuesday, I took mom to the doctor - all her tests checked out good and she is doing better on less medication.
Yesterday, we went to Deming and visited the farm. Grace had a great time running in the yard with the big dogs. We also stopped by the winery and stocked up on jugs of wine. We worried they were going to think we were some serious alcoholics but several folks came in getting as many jugs filled as we did.
My brother's cotton looked really good. He got an average of 4.25 bales to the acre on what he has already picked - that is an excellent yield. Of course, the price is not as good as last year.
My dad came over to have dinner last night after visiting mom and reported that she is sick. It looks like she picked up a bug either from the doc's office or from a new patient they admitted - bummer. I will go visit her today. Also, the rig sprung a leak. We have coolant dripping from our generator. It only happens at night when it gets cold. So, I think a hose clamp or fitting needs to be tightened. I could do it myself but I can't figure out how to get to where it seems to be coming from, as our huge generator is completely wrapped up in sheet metal. We have a mobile service scheduled for the Monday after Thanksgiving (soonest he could schedule it) but we might just run it over to the local repair shop down the street. That's all for now - need to get up to see mom.
Hope your mom is feeling better quickly!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of refilling wine jugs :) Didn't know you could do that in the states.
There seems to be something going around everywhere...Al's aunt was in the hospital with pneumonia. Take care of yourselves and hope your mom feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope your mom feels better soon and you don't catch that bug yourself.
ReplyDeleteHope it is nothing serious with mom and she is feeling better quickly. Be careful not to catch the bug yourself!!
ReplyDeleteUgh on your Mom getting sick. Hope she feels better soon. I love cotton fields. So so pretty to me!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you mom is sick, hope she gets back on her feet soon.
ReplyDeleteNot uncommon for coolant leaks to appear in cold weather,, very often, as you suspect, from hoses clamps that are not quite tight enough.
Sorry to hear about your mom getting way laid in her recovery. I too have heard of quite a few people getting pneumonia. If it's that, they are pretty good at treating it.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your leak too. Sounds like you got the wine refill just in time for all of this not so good news.
Keep on keepin' on!
Sounds like a loose clamp alright. Hope your Mom is feeling better, I guess flu season is upon us again.
