End Of The First Week

Friday, we finished up the drywall on the first house and then went over to begin our tile job. We got about 2/3 of the house tiled by end of day yesterday.  It has been hard work and I must admit that yesterday morning I was losing some of my enthusiasm.

About 11:00 AM, Gabriella came to visit. She wanted to help.  She has the home next door.  It was built by habitat last year.  She does not owe habitat any more work hours. (Each homeowner has to work 250 hours per adult, in order to qualify for a home.) She just wanted to help.  After lunch, she gave us a tour of her house.  She is very proud, of it and has it decorated very nicely. Then about 1:00 PM, Leticia and her daughter, came to help.  It is their house that we are working on.  I was worried, because the tile is pretty good, but not perfect. I asked her if she thought it was OK.  She smiled and said "I love it!"  Needless to say, my motivation returned:)
We will enjoy a couple of days rest and then be happy to hit the deck at 5:30AM to help finish Leticia's house.

  6. You're an example of everything that's right in this country. After all the negativity of this election cycle, it's refreshing to see real Americans like you helping others that aren't as fortunate as we are. You're paying it forward. :c)
