We had a really nice Thanksgiving celebration at the farm in Deming. Brother Cass, was in charge of cooking and carving the Turkey.
He did a nice job. The turkey was moist and delicious. He stuffed it with some veggies, fruit and some green chili before roasting. You know us New Mexicans, we have to find a way to put green chili in everything:).
Anne set a lovely table. Catlin was the only one of their four children at home this year. That made for a smaller, calmer, celebration. Catherine and I kind of enjoyed it, although we missed seeing the other kids.
Even with fewer people, we had a feast! The food was plentiful, and delicious.
Grace had a good day too. Cass does not like dogs in the house but Grace has managed to make herself an exception. She had so much fun, that she needed a post dinner nap on Cass's knee :).
Today, we will try to get together with my aunt from California again. I took her to see my mom Wednesday. She seemed pleased with how mom was doing and with the facility. That made me feel good.
We had a wonderful day, and a lot to be thankful for.....
Glad you had a great Thanksgiving. I think green chili's in turkey sounds pretty good :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the green chilis. Being from Virginia we even like our BBQ sweet. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Grace is able to wiggle her cute self into everyone's heart.
Green chilies? Now why does that not surprise me, even in a turkey. Nice time with family, it's so good to have special days together. Hope you snuck in a little football, too. :c)
ReplyDeleteYou girls sure have been busy. The weather is great here in Rockport.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your Mom's setback.
