We made it! We arrived in Garden City about 2PM yesterday. The temperature was 102 with a stiff hot breeze. Welcome to west Texas :). It did not matter that much to me. It felt like coming home. Our friends Joe and Carmen greeted us with champagne and hugs.
We got the rig settled in her spot and just spent the afternoon visiting in the cool of the ac.
Grace got to know their little dog Chiquita and they seem to get along fine. Walter the cat, who is larger than many dogs including Grace, is another matter. Grace is always happy to let another dog be pack leader but she does not seem so sure about taking orders from a cat. Looks like it will take Walter a while to convince her, that he really is the boss of this outfit.
We had a wonderful dinner of roast and mixed vegetables made on the grill . We were very tired after three long days on the road and called it a night about 8:30. We are happy to be settled for a while.
See you down the road......
I think Walter will reign supreme! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you have arrived safe and sound!! Get some rest, then have some fun... you've earned it;o))
ReplyDeleteTell Grace I'm with her. No self respecting dog would take orders from a cat. ALTHOUGH.....I once had a gray tabby who suckered my two beagles into thinking she was a dog so that she could be the alpha.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are happily in Texas with 102 degrees. We are happily in Utah with 101. You win!! :-)
Glad you made it there safely. Those are good friends if they greet you with champagne! Enjoy the downtime and relax.
