After 18 years, we are back in Texas! It was a very long travel day and not the way we want to travel in our "new" world. But, we have a truck to turn in. So, we pressed across Oklahoma and are camped in Witchita Falls, Texas.
I had a couple of questions. I will catch everyone up on "the plan". We are headed for Garden City, Texas, where we have very good friends. They have graciously put in a 50 amp hook up and their home will be our "official residence". They are about 1/2 way between our two families. So, the location works great for us and we love spending time with them. The stuff in the U-haul will go in storage in Midland. It will eventually furnish my mother's guest house. However, the guest house is full of junk right now and that is on our to do list. Get rid of the junk; paint; make sure heat, ac, fridge, and plumbing all work; move our stuff in so it can be used as a guest house again. This has to be done so we might as well get it done and have a free place to store our stuff.
We will spend the next couple of weeks paying the state of Texas to become residents (Driver's License, RV and Truck inspected and registered, register to vote,) . Then it will be off to New Mexico for my niece's wedding. That is "the plan". Keep checking in to see how it unfolds. See you down the road
Definitely sounds like a plan! And a HOT one for sure. Keep posting the temps so I'll feel better about being in Utah. LOL
