The little one came on its own to find some shade. It browsed around in the yard for a while then settled down in some shade. We checked on it occasionally throughout the day and it was just resting in the shade -no sign of Mama.
"I am glad I found you Mama. I was getting hungry." After a snack in the road, Mama took the little one back to the brush. It was a real treat to see such a young one.
We pulled out this morning about 9:30 headed for Balmorhea State park.

I always think it is such a blessing, when wildlife visits like that. But a fawn, by itself? That's really neat. I wonder if the mom was looking for her baby, or if she was keeping an eye on her from a distance.
