A little fun and the condo is coming together

We took a little time off from moving/unpacking on Sunday to visit the "Chihuly Collection".  It is a permanent installation of his work in downtown St. Pete.    It opened after we left the area in 2009. This was our first time to see it.
There was a special exhibit on  "Seaform Stoppers".   They were big glass "jars" with stoppers that had all kinds of sea life in blown glass with gold flaking in the glass. They were pretty spectacular.

The lighting is very well done and really shows off these amazing works.  It does make taking a good photo challenging.

They also had a nice film about Chihuly's work in outdoor settings.  It was really interesting to see how he takes much of his inspiration from nature.  It was a nice afternoon and we managed to stay out of the rain. Overall, we liked the exhibit and thought it was worth the $15 bucks.

On the home front, things are coming together.  Everything is unpacked and most of the pictures are on the walls.

Of course, we can think of lots and lots of things we want to do in the future. For now, we are pretty much up and running.
The paint is kind of hard to see but most of the walls are a very light green.  The wall that the couch is against is kind of a moss green.  It looks pretty good.  We don't worry much about matching everything. Our stuff is kind of an eclectic mix.  If we like it and it is comfortable, we keep it. The kitchen is still bright yellow but it is OK- now that there is not so much of it.
We had quite a storm last night.  We were glad to have a king sized bed because Grace slept with us for protection.
We are visiting friends on Friday to celebrate my birthday and we hope to have some other friends over this weekend to exercise the new grill.
