Getting Moved in -

Only 15 boxes left.   So far it has gone pretty well.  Everything survived storage OK.  We did have an issue when I went to put the brass bed together.  No bed rails-hmmmm.  Oh rats, those were in the corner behind the door of the storage room.  A call to the storage place confirms -yes- they are still there.  Our friends Joe and Carmen will retrieve them and store them in their barn until we come through. We needed a frame for the bed in the master anyway. So, we got one that will work for both beds.  We will use it for the brass bed until we get our rails and just leave the other one on the floor for a while.
Most of the boxes that are left are pictures.  I am looking forward to getting those out and enjoying our art work again. That part should be more fun!

Yesterday while getting a few items at home depot, I found this electric patio grill.  It is just the one I had been wanting at a great price!  Sold!
We will be trying it out this weekend.  Maybe some grilled shrimp tacos?

I also got two chairs and a table for the patio at Target for $40- all items were on clearance.  I guess it is time to start putting the Christmas stuff out soon?  We enjoyed the patio this morning.  There was a nice stiff sea breeze making it cool and comfortable.  It was nice to enjoy morning coffee and catch up on blogs while watching the clouds roll by.

  1. What a nice view from your patio! It kind of gets on my last nerve that although summer has barely begun, you soon won't be able to find any summer time stuff in the stores. Guess I'd better look for some new shorts today before the snow mobile suits hit the racks. ;)

  2. Boy that really is some view. What a great morning you describe. That's a terrific view. On the water is definitely the place to be if you are living in Florida. Well done!!

The art and pictures on my walls are one of the things I miss most about living in an RV. Can't wait to see yours. Is that a piano?? Maybe I'm projecting. I miss my piano too. Don't think I've ever seen an RV with a real piano and nobody is ever going to talk me into the idea that a keyboard Chopin sounds like a grand Chopin or even a baby Grand or even a very nice upright. Oppps, getting carried away here, sorry. :-))

  3. Just curious, how did your piano do in storage? Was it a climate controlled unit or was it an outside, unheated one?

I'm asking because friends have our piano and I'd like to get it out of their house, they haven't complained but I don't want to overstay the welcome.

Climate controlled units are really expensive, whereas the uncontrolled units are much cheaper.

  4. We got the climate controlled for the art and the piano. It sounds like it did fine- just needs tuning. Although the movers chipped a leg which I will have to repair.

  5. RE Chipped piano Leg: They chipped it, aren't they obligated to pay for repairs? You have a beautiful view. Enjoy.

  7. Nice to get everything moved, I'll bet - what a job, it's one of my least favorite things to do.

That view makes it all worthwhile though.

  9. I had to laugh at what Judy said about summer has only just begun. You can sure tell she's not in Florida, can't you? It seems like it's been summer forever.

Glad you made it back safe and sound with your furniture. I guess a chip on one piano leg is not too bad...considering.

Love the new table and chairs. Looks like a wonderful place to have morning coffee or happy hour.

How are you enjoying all the rain.....rain.....rain.....glub, glub, glub?
