Joys of Home Ownership, Great Restaurant

The only item the home inspector flagged on our condo was some moisture around the guest bath toilet base.  A new wax ring needed to be installed.  Of course, it is never that easy:)  I noticed one of the bolts was loose and I thought it was broken.  It turned out to be a broken flange, which was glued in. It should be screwed to the floor - nope - glued into the pipe.  Since I own the flange, but not the pipe it is glued into, I repaired the flange with my trusted J-B weld epoxy resin.  I did learn at Home Depot, that they make a steel cover which can be screwed in over a broken flange.  I decided to replace the tank gaskets as well.  We got the toilet set and everything in place and gave it a test flush- water everywhere- coming from the tank bolts- but only when it flushes- hmmm.  Took tank off and reseated it on the new gasket.  That was the problem. All fixed.  Today, I replaced the shower head, caulked the shower and replaced the handles on both the faucet and shower. The guest bath is good to go until we do a major overhaul. We are a ready for guests :).

This afternoon we decided to try a place recommended by one of our neighbors for lunch-  Mazzaro Italian Market.  Wow!  What a great place.  This is a huge market, with wine, beer, fresh pasta, fresh roasted coffee, a bakery, gelato, cheeses, a butcher shop, fresh produce and all kinds of  imported products. Amazing!  Catherine got a  grilled portobello wrap and I got a grilled caprese (tomato, basil, and fresh mozzarella) sandwich.  They were both delicious.  My mind is buzzing with all the good meals I can make with those products.  I foresee many trips to this market in our future.

We are rocking right along getting the condo in shape and planning our next road trip.

  1. How come you listed from the Italian Market the booze first before the food? I'm wondering what your priorities are... ;c)

Good job on being a plumber. Thankfully you didn't have to drag the condo down to Red Bay to get the toilet fixed! :cD

  3. You did a better job than me with the plumbing as I always seem to get leaks 3 or 4 times before I finally get them stopped. Good job.
