Last night, we attended the welcome pot luck for Habitat.
It is a nice group of folks with several people that have worked on builds here in Las Cruces before this. One couple has been here eight times.
We reported for duty at 7:45 AM this morning. Yes, I said 7:45. The build is from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Tuesday -Saturday. Today we hung sheet rock in a house. We started with the ceiling. Can you say really sore arms and shoulders?
I would say we got better than 1/2 way, on the house today. The house is a rebuild. It burned last year and the goal is to get the family back in by Xmas. The picture on the right, is the first couple of pieces my crew put up. I spent most of the day on the screw gun. Catherine did a bit of everything-marking the floor for all the vent and electric box cutouts, measuring, cutting, and using the screw gun.
It was a good day. The group is really fun. We are going to met up with them now for happy hour and I will run up to see my mom for a little while.
See you down the road....
Happy hour will help the soreness go away :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gail. Looking forward to more reports.
