Kerrville,

Tuesday, we visited Kerrville.  Somehow, I had never been there.  I was surprised that it is a fairly large town.  Our first stop, was the museum of western art.
They have some nice pieces especially the sculpture.  Unfortunately, they were hanging a new exhibit when we arrived.  We were able to view most of the art but it was sitting on the floor, instead of hanging on the walls.  The good part was they did not charge us for admission.
After the museum, we had lunch at Buzzies BBQ which has been voted on of the 50 best BBQ places in Texas by Texas Monthly.  We met Buzzie and he told us to watch for him on BBQ Pitmasters on TLC in November. The food was very good. We also learned that Texas Monthly has a new BBQ finder app for the iphone- cool.

After lunch, we checked out a county park and some RV parks.  There are some very nice places to stay in the area.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed just hanging around the RV Park.  We had a long walk in the morning.  We saw several scissor tails on our walk.  This one posed for us.

Today, we are going to head over to enchanted rock state park for a hike.

  2. We saw Kerrville last winter as we passed by at 60 mph. We'll have to see it at a much slower pace next time.

Thanks for pointing out some highlights that we will put on our list. :c)

  3. How different to view the art on the floor!

It's no surprise that Paul and Marti blasted right past Kerrville. :)

  4. I really need to get an IPhone just for the apps, the BBQ app seals it. We will have to check out Buzzies when we head back that way. We are BBQ addicts! Have fun on your hike.

  6. I helped develop the trails and native landscaping used in Enchanted Rock, one of the coolest looking state park signs in Texas to boot...

  8. You guys and lots of your followers are serious about your BBQ. They are in North Carolina too. Glad to hear there is an app for both the apple and droid. I hate when some folks are left out!

Love hearing about your adventures and that scissortail. He would have made my day.
