We had one minor issue. When we stopped to fuel up, the electric step motor rolled the steps out about three inches and then gave up the ghost. It just stopped. I checked the fuse and that seems to be fine. I disconnected the steps from the motor arm and braced them so we can use them. I will have to tie them up hillbilly style, when we travel. But it will work until we can get them repaired and is safer than having them part way out. We will contact Lazydays as we are still in our 30 day window.
The deer families came to greet us last evening. There are two mamas and four fawns. The babies were running around, trying to play - very cute.
Today, I got Phiona all outfitted with her Texas license plate. It is kind of a blustery day so, we are inside catching up on mail, budget and chores. Its nice to be home for a while.

Nice home base. Hope Lazydays takes care of the steps through a local RV Repair place.

Welcome "home"!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it back safely.
ReplyDeleteAhhh! There's no place like home :)
ReplyDeleteHope the steps are a simple fix.
Phiona looks great in her new home, just like she was meant to be.
ReplyDeleteI'd take some WD-40 to your steps and lube the joints and the rod underneath that goes across the steps and any linkage points that you can get at. Sometime, a little rust binds them up. I lube my steps several times a year.
It is worth a try.
PS: The rod goes through some bushings, hit them good too. It only takes a minute or two but you will have to get underneath the steps.
ReplyDeleteNice to back in the familiar settings and relax. We're on our way to the same thing just a different spot. Hope Paul's ideas fix the steps.
ReplyDeletePaul's ideas are good ones. Check with your RV manufacturer about what to use. When we had trouble with our steps I was told to use white lithium grease. It's available in a spray can at Walmart and other places if that's what you need. Can't remember whether it was the steps manufacturer or Winnebago that recommended it. That's what I used and I haven't had any problem since. Good luck! Thanks again for that beer!!
ReplyDeleteSince the steps actually moved and the fuses are still o.k., it's definitely worth giving them a shot of grease to see if that works. If that's the only problem you had on your drive home then that's pretty good. Glad you got home safely.
