Transition....

We took my mom to the doctor today. She needed an exam prior to admission to the assisted care facility.  This was the first time I had met her Doc and I really liked him.  He was really wonderful with her.  He told us that he knows how hard this is but that it probably is the best thing for her and it is time to take this step. Even though we knew this, having his conformation made both my stepfather and me feel better.  If anyone needs a Doc when traveling through Deming, I would highly recommend Dr. Williams - Deming Primary Care.

 It is hard to imaging moving her from her home of 40 years. But, it is even harder to imagine that much of the time she does not realize that it is her home.  We are working to get her room set up so that it will "feel" more like home to her.   I don't know if it will help but we will do the best we can. We brought bedding and hung pictures.  Today, we will put on some finishing touches and move her in Thursday or Friday.
Then we will take it day to day.
