Big Bend

We left Davis Mountains about 11:00 AM and arrived at Rio Grande Trailer Village at about 2 PM.  We have a full hook up site with 50 amp.  That is a good thing, because the high temp tomorrow is supposed to be 97 degrees!
Before we started full timing, I purchased a Pep Wave Surf Mini wi-fi receiver.  Until a couple of days ago, I would have said it was a waste of money.  However, the last few days it has been worth every penny. At Davis mountains and now at Big Bend where our verizon card has not worked, it has allowed us to pick up the park wi-fi, in our coach.  I had to put it outside here, but it works great. It picks up the wi-fi and amplifies it through the coach. I am so glad we have it.
The mountain views are fabulous here.  However, it does feel a bit like you are on the end of the earth. We drove for miles and miles, never seeing another car.
It is finally starting to cool off.  Hopefully the AC will get some rest tonight, because we will need it tomorrow.  We are planing an early morning hike and some sightseeing.  See you down the road....

  1. Whew 97 and I thought it was hot here. Great information about your Wave surf, I didn't know National Parks even had public wifi to receive. Hope you get out REALLY EARLY for that hike. :-)

  2. But it's a dry heat... ;c)

Nice that the WiFi booster worked so well. You'd think Verizon would make their signal available at the ends of the earth. "Can you hear me now?"

  3. Pretty views! Be careful not to overdo it in that heat.
