We thought it was a very nice facility with lots of good exhibits. The beginning is focused on the Gulf of Mexico. I learned that the gulf does indeed have one coral reef "Flower Garden" it is a national marine sanctuary. They have a replica of the reef and a show with divers feeding the fish. It is nicely done.
They also have a dolphin show....
One of my favorite exhibits was the Jellyfish. They were displayed nicely and they had lots of different kinds.
The river otter seemed to be zeroed in on the best way to spend a rainy day. I love to watch these guys play, but they were having none of it today. It is a good aquarium and worth a visit. In addition to marine life, they have a few unique animal exhibits and a facility to rehab injured birds.
After the aquarium, we headed back to Port A for a late lunch. The sun finally broke through around 5:00- perfect for happy hour. Today, we are going to meet some blogger friends Dawn and Denise, Cruzin2some for lunch and we are supposed to get some sun :). See you down the road....
I know there is a plan that includes jellyfish but I'd actually like it if they were all in the acquarium and the dolphins and otters were all in the wild. Sounds like a fine day and tomorrow even better with the addition of some sun.
ReplyDeleteThose jellyfish sure look nicer in the aquarium than they do on the beach :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the sun today. Now if the temps creep up too, I'll be really happy :)
I'm with Gail. The jellyfish look better in the aquarium than they do on the beach!!
ReplyDeleteJellyfish are a Chinese dish. I don't know how good they'd taste but maybe with a little peanut butter...
