Yesterday, we met Gail and Rick -aka Gypsy Turtles for lunch. We met them at the RV Dreams rally last April. They are wintering in Rockport. We had been waiting for a clear, calm day to take the kayaks out, but it just was not happening (maybe sometime this week). We met at the Port Aransas Brewing Co. Gail and I tried a home brew- not the best we ever had. Rick passed and tried a couple of offerings from the expansive selection of micro-brews. Gail, Rick and I got burgers and Catherine got this little Calzone...
They make their own pizza crust and burger buns- good stuff. After we filled up on food and beverage, it seemed like a good idea to go to Coffee Waves and try their gelato :). It was a good idea- delicious and no need to worry about supper. We had a great visit and look forward to getting together again, if not for a kayak outing, at least for more food and beverage :)
There is a "bluegrassfest" in town today, at one of the local eateries. If the rain moves out, we will probably check it out. See you down the road.....

New friends and good food-perfect:)

Wow! That food sure looks good...oh wait! It was! You are so right about no supper. I made some popcorn about 9 PM :)
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! That calzone looked big enough to feed an army. Did Catherine finish it all by herself??? ;c)
ReplyDeleteI just can't get over the "TEXAS" size calzone!!! Great day with good friends:o))
ReplyDeleteThat definitely is a Texas size calzone! Yummy! Fun times with good friends.
ReplyDeleteGlad you guys finally got together! The calzone looks like enough for three meals!
