More Birds....

Double crested Cormorant with some sleepy Neotropics
 Thanks to everyone for your well wishes about my ear.    It has been very painful, but is getting better everyday.  Yesterday, I woke up feeling pretty good. We decided to check out the bird sanctuary again.  There were the usual suspects: Pelican's, Cormorants, Ducks, Grebes and Coots.  I did manage a pretty good picture of this red eared slider...

 Then a new group flew in... American Avocets.  They are really pretty little birds.  My picture is not great, but we got a good look at them through the bird expert's scope.

 We got a cup of coffee and took a drive on the beach.  We came across this gang....
Black Skimmers
They are so funny.  I think they look like gangsters.  It was an overcast windy day so we headed home for lunch and a nap. Today is another overcast day. We are going to check out the Texas State Aquarium.  We have not been there before, as it opened after we moved away from Texas.  See you down the road...

    Terrific red slider picture. I thought the black skimmer looked like a clown when he showed up with the Marx Brothers at Venice Beach. But your group does look like gansters now that you mention it.
