New Kayak!

Wahoo!  We love our sea eagle inflatable for convenience but it is not fast and it does not track that well.  We really wanted a hard side again- however we had no place to put it.  Our community has just put in a kayak rack, but we were number 30 on the waiting list.
Sunday, the people we purchased our condo from, Bill and Charlotte, invited us over to their new condo for an open house.   They had the condo renovated before they moved in and it is really beautiful.  They used the same contractor we will be using for our renovations.  It was great to see the quality of work in their condo. It made us feel much better about taking the renovation plunge.
They were talking about getting a kayak because they got a space on the kayak rack.  We asked if they wanted to go in together and they agreed!  We split the cost of the kayak and each bought our own seats and they got paddles. We already have paddles.  It should work out great because they are here more in the summer and we are here more in the winter.

Here we all are - proud of our new purchase. We will be able to take it out this weekend.  They leave Wednesday so it is theirs for the next couple of days.

We can not wait to get out on the water again! Wahoo!

  1. What a great plan. We had friends with whom we once bought a troybuilt tiller and a top of the line chainsaw. Sharing worked out great for us both. We have the same opinions about our sea eagle and our hard sides. Enjoy!!

  2. What a great idea and sounds like it will work out well for both of you. We still love our Sea Eagles, and have no problem with speed or tracking, but have the Fast Track model and they are made quite a bit differently than the 370's.

  5. Things work out for a reason! Nice that they had a kayak slip and go elsewhere during the winter.

  6. That was great thinking outside the box! Plus that hard sided kayak will be a little harder for the gators and sharks to bite through... ;c)
