We started our Disney adventure at Hollywood Studios. We rode Catherine's favorite ride "The Rock'in Roller Coaster." I like it too. We skipped the "Tower of Terror". I don't really like it.
We had lunch at the "Prime Time Cafe"
After lunch, Catherine' indulged in one of her favorite Disney treats. The ears are the best part.
We took in the "Lights, Motors, Action" stunt show.
It is a really good show.
They have incorporated "Lightning McQueen" from the "Cars" movies.
We took in several more attractions and then went to check in to our hotel. We stayed at the Hilton in Downtown Disney. We thought it was a really nice hotel. They offered shuttle service to the parks and it was located right across the street from lots of restaurants and shopping. We were able to use some of our airline points for
the stay. It was not quite as fun as the Disney Campground.
We had dinner at an Irish pub in Downtown Disney. We got a good meal, entertainment and some tasty adult beverages.
This time of year "Extra Magic Hours" are in effect. So, if you are at a Disney resort you can get in the park an hour early. Wednesday was the day for Animal Kingdom. We were in the park at 8 and headed straight for "Expedition Everest". It is my favorite ride. It was great to ride without a line but it was a bit cold that early in the morning. But, hey, Everest is supposed to be cold.
We rode the Dinosaur ride, found some breakfast and then headed out for a safari.
They have changed this quite a bit. They have taken out the fake Elephants and the whole "catching the poacher" script. Now, they just give you information about all the different animals. We liked it better this way. We saw lots of animals including both the male and female lion for the first time. We took in the lion king show- one of the best attractions at Disney.
After lunch and a nap, we headed out to the Magic Kingdom for the extended hours there. We saw the hall of presidents show and rode the Haunted Mansion ride. It was the first time we had seen the Hall of Presidents since it underwent a major renovation. Morgan Freeman now does the narration and President Lincoln gives the entire Gettysburg address. It is a very good update.
We enjoyed the Electrical Parade. It had been a long time since we had seen the it. It was great fun.
After the parade, we caught the shuttle back to the hotel.
Thursday, was the early morning for Magic Kingdom. We were in the gate just after 8 AM.
We had a great day at the Magic Kingdom. We rode all our old favorite rides and tried out a few new ones. We headed back to St. Pete about 2:00.
We got Grace from the Vet. She did fine there but they fed her a little too much. We enjoyed our trip and now we will settle in for a quiet holiday at home.

I've never been to Disney, so I enjoy posts about what is there.
ReplyDeleteGreat summary. I just love Disney. I could spend a month there I swear....IF I could afford it. Looks like you had a great time. I agree about the Lion King. Since you live in Florida, I assume you have annual passes so you can hop over there for a few days any time you like. So cool!!
ReplyDeleteWe'll be there, but at The Fort, starting Jan.26. Thanks for the post, gets me even more geared up to get there!
ReplyDeleteThree days is not enough!!! We planned to go this January, but as you know, we're stuck for now. June, maybe?
ReplyDeleteBrings back good memories of our trip there earlier this year! It must be something to see everything decorated for the holidays!
