Back Among the Living

After spending the last five days mostly in bed, I am back among the living.  My cold has finally subsided.  This is the first sunset I have enjoyed in several days and it is fantastic.
Tomorrow, we go to get our Florida Driver's licenses and register the truck.
I am hoping I pass the vision test.  I did go earlier this week to get some glasses for driving at night.  But, they are not ready yet.  So, I will take my chances.

I have not mentioned it on the blog before, but Grace is having some issues.  She has some facial paralysis- sort of like "Bell's palsy".  We found a vet we really like in the area.  So far, she has not identified a cause.  Grace is doing OK, she just drools a bit from one side and does not blink on one side.  It seems to have gotten a little better in the last week, but we are still a little worried about her.  We decided to board her at the vet's next week when we go to Disney rather than take her to Orlando- just in case it gets worse.  She does not seem to be bothered by it- she just rocks along.  My internet research tells me - sometimes it gets better, sometimes it stays the same, sometimes it gets worse- in other words- nothing.

We have met with a contractor and it looks like we will get our kitchen renovation underway in January.  We may be moving back in to the RV for a couple of weeks.  We are looking forward to the end result but not to the construction.

I am hoping I feel like getting out in the world and doing something fun this weekend!

  1. Glad to hear you're feeling better and back in the land of the active.

Sorry to hear about Grace. Your minds will be more at ease with her at the vet while you are at Disney.

Good luck on your driver's license test.

  2. Glad to hear you are feeling better but sorry to hear about Grace. Hope she improves during her vet visit. I think you should just stay at Disney World while the kitchen renovations take place...that would make the time fly;o))) BEAUTIFUL sunset!!!

  3. Ugg, a cold for five days, glad to hear it left. Could Grace have had a little stroke?? I hate to think of her with problems. Glad they don't seem to bother her. Are you taking the rig to Disney??

    1. Vet says it is very unusual for dogs to have strokes. We are not taking the rig- burning some hotel points.

  4. Oh I am jealous, wish we were going to Disney, too! Have an extra good time for us and tell Mickey we miss him. ;c)

We're hoping maybe an early June visit to WDW with the grandsons if the stars align. We enjoy Ft Wilderness with our MH, our favorite campground.

  5. Sure hope Grace's condition improves. Colds are nasty as the effects just seem to linger on and on. I've been fighting one for a bit too.

Good luck with your driving tests - just keep the car between the ditches.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Too bad you missed the Bucs game.

Have fun this week-end. You certainly are in a nice place. Its nice to have an RV to live in while the kitchen is being renovated. Coming back to Quail Run?
