I also made a key lime pie. I love key lime pie, but seldom make it. Publix in Florida made a good one, that we purchased frequently-good stuff.
We also have a new crop of cats. The kittens play on this brick all the time - I don't know why people buy those fancy cat towers. These think the brick is just as much fun. When they get a bit bigger, they will be moving to my cousin's farm. He needs some barn cats. We have too many cats, but I think we are the only people in the county without any mice.
We have not had too much to blog about. We had planned a drive to the Gila Cliff dwellings National park but there is a large fire in the area. The wind finally died down yesterday so hopefully a few non-windy days will help them get it under control.
My dad helped me with another fix on the engine cover-crack. The heat and vibration caused the screws on the metal plate I used, to come loose. So, now we put a plate on both sides with small bolts. I think that should do the trick.
We also borrowed my brother's carpet cleaner and cleaned the carpet and couch in the rig.
Cooking, cleaning, fixing ...that has been about it.
Sounds like you have been putting your time to good use. Those crock pots come in very handy when it is hot and you don't want to heat up the rig. Wish I could find some vegan meals that weren't stews or soups.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to use a gym in this hot weather but can't find one that will just let you sign up for a month or two. I'm assuming that's what you did. The exercise definitely helps with the stress. Glad to see you are keepin' on keepin' on.
I like using our crockpot too! I am really really enjoying all the time I have to cook and try new recipes. Good for going to the gym. Exercise does help with stress levels!
ReplyDeleteNow I'll have to dig out my crockpot! I keep forgetting about that thing. It certainly is an easy way to make a good meal and would work well here in Colorado as it's been very windy here too. We've given up trying to grill on windy days...uses way too much propane.
ReplyDeleteIf you weren't stationery for awhile, you wouldn't have accomplished all those housekeeping duties :)
if we knew you were making a key lime pie we would have waited for you in Demming...
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting about my crockpot too. Thanks for the reminder. I could have a blast just watching the kittens play. They're just so darned cute!
ReplyDeleteWe actually use the crockpot while traveling. Put the goodies in and put it in the sink while we're driving. Then it's good to go when we stop for the night. Plus the aromas help keep me awake while driving by making my stomach growl.
ReplyDeleteNow if we could just figure out a way to make Key Lime pie in the crockpot... ;c)
Sure like the looks of that Key Lime Pie. We are pretty big users of our crockpot both at home and while RV'ing - just throw all the stuff in the crockpot and go away for 8 hours!
ReplyDeleteThe key lime pie looks great! For some reason we use our crockpot more in the fall than in the summer. They are nice for coming home to dinner already made so we should probably use it more.
