"Fame and Misfortune"

Yesterday, we did some grocery shopping for Catherine's parents and picked up a few things for ourselves.  Then, we went to the McNay Art Museum to see a special exhibit.
I am not a huge Andy Warhol fan, but his work was certainly interesting.  It was a good exhibit with about 150 pieces. The Museum is located on the estate of Marion McNay, who died in 1950 and left her estate, over 700 works of art, and an endowment to establish the first museum of modern art in Texas.   We also toured the permanent collection and the grounds of the Museum, which are beautiful.
They have a nice sculpture collection on the grounds.
It was a beautiful day. I can't believe we are getting this mild, spring weather this late in May.

Last night, we attended the Baccalaureate for our nephew's graduating class.  He gave the welcome and we were all very proud of him.

Today is graduation day.  See you down the road...

  2. Not a huge Andy Warhol fan either but some of his stuff certainly gets your attention. It would be hard to pass up the opportunity to see that exhibit being so close.

    Congrats to your nephew!

  4. Modern Art and Texas sure seems like an oxymoron!

Warhol's paintings seem as weird to me as he was but it made him a lot of money, so what do I know?

    Love your new header pic!
