We are back in our spot at my parent's house in Deming. I am not sure how long we will be here. We need to get my mother's care situation sorted out. Our summer plans will probably get scraped, or at least delayed- that is OK- just part of it. There are lots of things to see here in New Mexico:)
We had a beautiful sunrise this morning. It is clear, cool, and calm. However, we have wind advisories for later this morning and this afternoon. Looks like a hot, dusty, day ahead.
My mother's roses are beautiful this year. She spends most of the day watering and picking them. Unfortunately, she waters everything- every day-a lot- and won't use the pruners to cut the roses. We had to pull her out of the mud three times yesterday and she got all scratched up getting flowers after we had already clipped some. We will clip some more flowers this morning before it gets windy. The wind will probably do a number on the blooms:(
We have a few cleaning projects for the house and RV. We will stay busy- see you down the road....
It seems your mother still has a mission in life with watering the roses. Perhaps that is a good thing?
ReplyDeleteThe wind can do a number on a lot of things. I'm glad she still has a connection with her beautiful roses. I miss my bushes but our neighbors are enjoying some fresh cut flowers while we are away. A good caregiver can be hard to find. Good luck.

There sure is a lot to see in New Mexico!
ReplyDeleteI smiled when you talked about your mom and the roses. They apparently make her happy. That's the important thing.
Your mom enjoys her roses and loves to tend them. It's good that she has that joy in her life with the challenges she faces.
ReplyDeleteShe's a lucky woman to have such a loving daughter to be with her when she needs it most.
Great to see your Mom still likes to take care of her Rose Garden - good for her!
ReplyDeleteThat really is great that your mom still likes to take care of her roses. Clearly it's important to her and makes her happy. We'll be thinking of you in the days ahead as you make decisions regarding her care.
ReplyDeleteJust as you care for your mom, she cares for her roses:o)) It is so important to have a purpose to each day!! Hope you find the right solution to mom's care situation.
ReplyDeleteWe will be staying in the southeast and will get to know South Carolina very well so we can be here for my mother. That's why I love all the blogs. Get to go to some new places with all the bloggers!!!
You are wonderful daughters to provide for your mother.
ReplyDeleteHope you can help your mom not water quite so much that it's dangerous for her. Scrapes sound like ouchies and it would be sad if the roses responded poorly.
Full timing doesn't always turn out to be exactly what we thought it might. I try to think of it as dreams deferred.
Seems as tho it is meant to be for you to be able to be there for your mom, she is so fortunate and hey, you still have your own space as well! Best to you in all your efforts to make her life comfortable, safe and for you to have 'No Regrets' (a motto we live by)
ReplyDeleteI have dreamed of the rv life and follow many blogs living vicariously thru others.
For us, it is our good fortune to have a home with enough space that we could move my folks here this past Dec. as they are no longer able to live on their own, there have been many chanllenges with no doubt many more to be experienced, we have accomplished priority #1 after getting them here (that was actually #1 and quite the experience), have gotten them established with a good primary care Dr. and most all of their medical needs met! After 5 months we are actually enjoying our 'new normal' life with "The Folks"..
