Mom's Birthday, Cats and Friends

Yesterday, was my Mom's 84th birthday.  It was nice to be here to celebrate even though she could not really remember it was her birthday.  She got some new pajama's and some new sneakers that she was pleased with.  
There is a colony of feral cats that my mom feeds (no way to explain to her it is not a good idea) and lately the population has gotten too big.   So, we needed to trap some and take them to the shelter.   We managed to trap 5.  We didn't like taking them to the shelter but it is more humane than leaving them out to breed kittens that will not survive.  Next trip we will try to trap some and get them fixed so we don't have more babies. They sure don't have any mice around here though :)

We were able to meet up with fellow RV Dreamers Dave and Maxine "The Wandering Wingers." They were overnighting in Deming on the way to Benson, AZ.  We had dinner at "Si Senor" restaurant.  Great New Mexican fare! We got a picture of the food but forgot to get a picture of the people.  (Not sure what that says about us)

 
After dinner we hit the local Brewpub "Mimbres Valley Brewing" for a couple of beers and swapping of "fulltime" stories.  It was great to see them again.


Today, we are moving over to Las Cruces. We are planning a quiet New Year's Eve at home.  We wish everyone a happy and safe evening.  See you down the road....

    I love Mexican food!! If you are ever in the Palm Springs area, there is a restaurant called La Casita which is fantastic. Go on a Tuesday for Happy Hour and discounted meals. Yummy!

    Glad your mom had a good day and you two were there for it. You'll never regret time spent with your mom whatever her condition.

    Well of course you needed to photograph the food, we can always meet up with Dave and Maxine and see what they look like. ;c)
