All kinds of Birds, 6 Months on the Road

The Bird Cafe
Judy asked "what kind of birds we were watching".  All kinds - goldfinches, house finches, blackbirds, at least one meadowlark and a pyrruholxia and bunches of little brown birds.  Our friends have feeders out and we put our window feeder out.

We seem to always have someone having a snack.  They are fun to watch.

Today marks 6 months living in the coach.  It has been like everything else in life- not exactly as we expected.  We envisioned more traveling, more hiking, biking and kayaking.

Thus far, we have spent more time visiting with friends and family.  That is a good thing. We are truly blessed with wonderful friends and family and it has been great to get to spend more quality time with them.

Living in the coach has good points and bad points.  I get tired of moving something to get something else. However, we love that it takes only 45 minutes to clean the whole thing.  With the exception of the closet, our 34ft coach has worked out better than expected with regards to space. We have room for everything and are still carrying some "stuff" that we don't need.

Overall, we are really glad we pulled the trigger and got on the road.  We have seen some new things, enjoyed some old favorites, learned some new lessons, relearned some old lessons :), made new friends and enjoyed the company of old friends. Its all good.....

See you down the road....

  1. Very nice honest assessment of your first 6 months. Thanks!

Hope you get more hiking, bking and kayaking in the next 6. Don't suppose ya'll will be in Florida anytime this winter?

We find our 34' (actually called 34D but measures 34' 10") perfect for us. Closet works if you just wear the same 3 outfits over and over. :-) Just wish it had a heated basement and heated tanks when the weather gets colder than anticipated.

45 minutes to clean. Yours must be WAY cleaner than mine for sure! 20 minutes is about all we ever spend.

  3. Six months goes by pretty fast when you're having fun! It does get a bit agravating having to move two things out of the way to get to what you want. One thing that Gin's dad pointed out to me is that you don't misplace things because everything has only one place to go back to, kinda like a jigsaw puzzle.

  4. Clean? You mean you are supposed to clean these things? Maybe someday, when we toss out enough junk and finally find the floor... ;c)

Congrats on your six months on the road, here is to many, many more!
