Settled in at Hot Springs KOA. Nice park- little on the expensive side but they met our requirements; close to the national park, 50 Amps(still hot) and most important, availability over labor day weekend.
We learned an important travel lesson yesterday. Do not get behind the road striping crew on a very narrow very curvy road. Unfortunately, we did not realize we were behind them until we were going straight down the mountain with no other alternative. So, we arrived with yellow wheel wells on one side and white wheel wells on the other side. What a mess! After I did the grocery shopping and Catherine did the laundry, I set about to clean it up. All I can say is thank goodness for those pampered chef nylon scrapers. It is mostly all clean and it will be funny someday but not yet....
We also have a tire with a slow leak on the MH. I put air in when we left Eureka springs. It needed air again 3 days later. So we will stay in hot springs until Tuesday morning and will take it over to the nearby tire shop. I talked to them yesterday and the guy said he would get it fixed first thing Tuesday so we could be on our way. Its always something.
On a happier note, this town has a Starbucks :). So, I am off to get breakfast and fancy coffee courtesy of Catherine's parents and their gift card :)
See you down the road....
Are you going to get a spa treatment? I'm thinking of going that way to Texas in a couple of weeks, and was hoping to do the spa thing again. It's an experience to remember. :)
ReplyDeleteOh bummer, yellow tires. No pic of that I guess. I'll have to look into the pampered chef nylon scraper thing. Don't have one of those but it sounds like a necessity for emergency clean up.
ReplyDeleteDon't eat yellow tires! ;c)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun that must have been to clean off. On the other hand, if you left it on, you'd have better protection from the sun...
Enjoy your Starbucks, you deserve it after all that scrapping.
Oh no! I'll bet it won't be funny for quite some time :)
ReplyDeleteGlad it came off though.
