An Unexpected Event

We arrived in New Mexico this morning.  We got a nice site at Sunny Acres RV park.  We had planned to come here just to visit my family.  However, two weeks ago while reading the news, we learned that Dona Ana County had begun to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples.
Since the supreme court decision and the more recent IRS ruling about recognizing same sex marriage, we have been planning to make our relationship legal.  Our original plan was to travel to New York sometime this fall.  Since we are already in New Mexico and I liked the idea of getting married in my home state, we took the plunge!
We were married this afternoon at the Dona Ana County clerk's office.  Bob Diven officiated and two people in the clerk's office were kind enough to witness.

Signed, Sealed and Delivered - after 22 years, we are married!

Now, off to one of our favorite Mexican food places to celebrate :)

A great way to wrap up a great day!
