This and That

Tuesday, we decided to change our light fixture in the dining room.  We are not going to have a table so the chandelier type fixture looked funny.  We found one we both liked and had a relatively easy time installing it.
Wednesday, we  took the old fixture to the Habitat Restore.  Hopefully, it will find a good home.  On the way back, we checked on the Breeze - only to find dead batteries :(.  It is plugged in- but the GFI had tripped.  When we got the shore power going again, the radio and water pump were on???  We would swear we did not leave those on. But, since it would be hard to believe someone broke in, took a shower, and listened to NPR -we must have.  We were moving stuff out of the rig so all we can think is that we hit the switches on our last trip out carrying stuff.  We will check back tomorrow and hopefully she will be charged up enough to start.  If not, we will have to give good sam a call- bummer.  That is the problem with keeping the rig in storage.  From now on, we will check on it once a week.
Today, we got haircuts and ate lunch at Datz in Tampa.  I tried the Chicken and Waffles and Catherine had a veggie sandwich.  Both were excellent.  They serve the chicken and waffles with spicy jalapeno maple syrup- good stuff.

Tomorrow, we will focus on getting the Breeze going.  We are thinking about leaving here earlier, making a trip to Texas, New Mexico and finishing with our rally in Memphis at the end of September. Then we will just drive the car to San Antonio for a few days at Thanksgiving.  Another plan carved in Jello! :)
For now, we are just hanging with the birds and trying to stay out of the heat.

  2. Spicy jalapeno maple syrup?? Really??? Oh my tongue is complaining and I didn't even try a bite. Sorry to hear about the Breeze's troubles but looking forward to seeing you on the road and finding out all about it. Texas and NM to escape the heat? Will that work?

    1. The Breeze started right up today. Texas is not quite as humid and will cool down more at night. New Mexico will cool down nicely at night and by Sept will be very nice weather. Deming is at 3500 ft and ABQ is over 5000 ft so it is considerably cooler.

Glad the battery charged up - it's always something, isn't it.

  4. I'm told I need to have a check list to help me remember everything in our Journey that I need to turn on and turn off.

Then I need a check list to remind me where I left the first check list... :cD
