We made it to San Antonio yesterday about 1:30. We had dinner with Catherine's parents- dropped off our laundry ( Catherine's mom always does our laundry :) and got a good nights sleep.
Today, Grace went in for a haircut and we helped Catherine's parents with a couple of chores.
Tomorrow, we will help them replace their hose reels and some hoses and lay down some soaker hoses. Then we will dig out some dead plants and clean up some hedges. As you can see from the campground picture, San Antonio is very dry. Everything has to be hand watered. Today, we even saw a guy hand watering the golf course- just trying to keep the greens - green.
We are not out of the heat yet. Today was 96 and tomorrow will get to 98 but the humidity was only 55% instead of 100%. The temps are dropping down to the low 70's at night. That is still hot, but a little more comfortable than Florida.
ReplyDeleteHow did the maiden voyage go ? Hope the turn around for the fix worked ..... Sounds like you two are going into landscaping !!!!! Have fun !!!!
So far so good with the Breeze
DeleteLandscaping in return for laundry service...sounds fair to me :)
ReplyDeleteGlad the humidity is lower, and glad it feel a little better than Florida. It's been a really hot and wet summer in Florida and I hear they got torrential rains yesterday in Wesley Chapel. (Glad we weren't there)
ReplyDeleteHow nice of Catherine's Mom to do your laundry.
Glad you arrived without incident;o)) Just read the trucker post!! We have just begun to head back toward South Carolina and already it is getting warm;o)) Going to take some time to get use to the heat and humidity again!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with family!!
Welcome back to San Antonio, land of hot and hotter. We can be thankful it's not as hot as Phoenix or Las Vegas.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to visit your family again. They sure put you to work.
I'll be flying up to Oregon to see my family on Sept. 21. Can't wait.
See you soon?
Susan
low 70's overnight this time of year in SA is pretty decent
ReplyDeleteNothing like getting to work on your arrival. I'm sure Catherine's parents really appreciate it. Those nighttime temps sound pretty good for that ara.
ReplyDeleteDry heat is still hot! We're melting in NC right now while visiting family.

Wow, I'm loving Catherine's Mom! Can she adopt me? :cD
ReplyDeleteWe want to get adopted too. We don't have TOO much laundry. :)
