Whoopie...

Yesterday, we had lunch at the Port A Brewhouse and then took the ferry over to Rockport.  We were in search of the Whooping Cranes.  We found them in the same spot they were last year.  We saw two pair.

We also looked in on "the big tree".  It is the 1000 year old Oak .  Sorry Sherri, no hugs allowed.  You can not walk under the tree as it compacts the soil over the root system.

Today, we ventured out for a kayak trip this morning.  The tide was out so we had to stick to the channel.  That was OK, as we hoped to see some dolphin.

The water was beautiful and calm.  It was a bit cloudy when we started, but the sun was shinning brightly as we returned.  We saw two dolphin as we were putting in, but none while on the water. Still, it was good to get the sea-eagle out again.  
The weather has been spectacular!
Tonight, we are going to the spaghetti dinner here at the park.  I tried getting a picture of these skimmers but all I got was ......
