We had some snacks, took a walk on the beach and Grace decided that John had a great lap for napping :). It was great to see them again. Hopefully, we will hook up again before we both leave the area.
Friday was another beautiful day. I decided to take the plunge and buy a kite that delivers a little more action. Last year, I bought just a plain old kite but I got bored after about 10 minutes.
I decided to go with the air foil kite. It is soft so even when you crash, nothing breaks or pops loose. It is easy to launch and a blast to fly.
We had a beautiful full moon last night. I rode my bike out to get a picture on the beach. It was so bright It almost looked like daylight.
This heron seemed to be enjoying the beautiful view as well. It was a beautiful ending to a great day!
Love the photos of Grace. She is hilarious! Such personality.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I haven't flown a kite since I was a kid. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteBut who carries you when you're worn out from all that high energy kite flying?
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of the heron. Nature's beauty continues to amaze me.
Kites are way fun! The air foil kites are pretty stress free (hard to break em) and you can still do some nifty flying. In the Columbia Gorge, folks combine big ones with water boards and can fly up 30-40 feet before descending back to the water (definitely a sport for the very young). I have a number of 2-line and 4-line kites and love going to the beach to fly them.
ReplyDeleteCheck out some photos from the annual Kite Festival at Long Beach WA - http://kitefestival.com/photo/
LOVE the kite!
ReplyDeleteWant to do lunch/linner one day while the weather is still nice? I still can't believe how beautiful it's been since you arrived...wish you had brought that weather earlier in the month! :)
Beautiful moonlight pic over the water! I saw that moon too, but it rose over the desert for us.
