Friends, Fun, Full Moon

Thursday, John and Sharon alias Mr and Ms Heyduke, joined us for happy hour at the rig. We had a nice time discussing our travels and the fun and not so much fun of RV living.
We had some snacks, took a walk on the beach and Grace decided that John had a great lap for napping :).  It was great to see them again.  Hopefully, we will hook up again before we both leave the area.

Friday was another beautiful day.  I decided to take the plunge and buy a kite that delivers a little more action.  Last year, I bought just a plain old kite but I got bored after about 10 minutes.
I decided to go with the air foil kite.  It is soft so even when you crash, nothing breaks or pops loose.  It is easy to launch and a blast to fly.
Friday evening, our friends arrived from Kansas. Everyone got here safely. We were happy to see them again.   Saturday, we helped them get set up, had a picnic lunch at the jetty, walked on the beach, and flew the kiteAll this fun has worn Grace out.  She had to be carried home from our last walk.

We had a beautiful full moon last night. I rode my bike out to get a picture on the beach. It was so bright It almost looked like daylight.
This heron seemed to be enjoying the beautiful view as well.  It was a beautiful ending to a great day!

  3. But who carries you when you're worn out from all that high energy kite flying?

Great picture of the heron. Nature's beauty continues to amaze me.

  4. Kites are way fun! The air foil kites are pretty stress free (hard to break em) and you can still do some nifty flying. In the Columbia Gorge, folks combine big ones with water boards and can fly up 30-40 feet before descending back to the water (definitely a sport for the very young). I have a number of 2-line and 4-line kites and love going to the beach to fly them.

  5. LOVE the kite!

Want to do lunch/linner one day while the weather is still nice? I still can't believe how beautiful it's been since you arrived...wish you had brought that weather earlier in the month! :)

  6. Beautiful moonlight pic over the water! I saw that moon too, but it rose over the desert for us.
