We have our window seed feeder out and have been getting lots of takers in this cold weather. You can see this house finch all puffed up to keep warm. Our friends gave us a sock with finch food to hang on a nearby tree.
The goldfinches have been sucking that dry daily :). The snow pretty much all melted but it is still cold in the mornings.
We had a beautiful sunrise today and it should get up to about 52 degrees- not bad. We are headed into town for haircuts.
We have a new neighbor. This drilling rig went up yesterday. It is one of several, in close proximity to the house, that have gone up in the last six months. It will be up for a few weeks and then will be replaced with a pump jack. It made a lot of racket the night they were putting it up, but we did not hear it last night. I liked it better out here, when the oil field activity was slower. Oh well, maybe all this new production will help to keep fuel prices reasonable for our travels.
We will head out tomorrow for San Antonio. See you down the road.....
Safe travels to San Antonio.
ReplyDeleteI think I like the view of the windmill better than the view of the oil well.
ReplyDeleteStay Warm!
It was 39 here this morning! I think it's cold all over. Luckily, we have no snow to melt :)
