5K

Yesterday, we ran a 5k.  It was the "Selma-Schertz salute to service members".  It benefited those service members at Brook Army Medical Center needing additional Physical Therapy.  We took our nephew.  He is a good runner. He had never done a race outside of school events.  He had fun and had a good time.  He finished 7th in his age group with a time of 24:14 ( he had to stop and tie his shoe).  Catherine did great, finishing in just under 35 minutes.  I did OK, given I still have a bad wheel (ankle sprain in July).  Catherine got a shot of me crossing the finish line.
I finished in just under 38 minutes. It felt good to finish a race again.  We hope to another couple of races this winter/spring.  Today, we are taking both nephews to "Dave and Buster's" for a little video game fun.  See you down the road....

  1. Thanks for running. 5k is just the right distance. Of course, 500 yards is about my limit with two bum knees.

  2. I had no idea you two were runners. You don't whine about it all the time like I do. :-) Congratulations!
