Getting Settled in at Rivers Edge -Blairsville, GA

We arrived at Rivers Edge in Blairsville, GA about 1:30 yesterday.  It was a long two days of travel but we got here safe and sound.

Karen (RV travels with Karen and Al) helped us secure a rental in the park.  It is a very nice spot- thanks Karen.
As usual, Grace was the first to make friends.  There is a Cavalier in the spot next to us and he has a Cavalier cousin that lives around the corner.  They were not that cooperative in posing for a picture.

Catherine and Grace did yoga this morning.  It was a cool 66 degrees- yes!

I rode my bike to the other part of the park up a big hill- almost had a heart attack.  I feel like a flat-lander again.
We spent today getting things set up in the Bounder the way we want them.  That required a couple of trips to Walmart.

Tomorrow we will venture out for some hiking in Vogel State Park.  We plan on staying for about a month.  This is a nice park and the temps are much more pleasant than St. Pete right now.

  1. Glad you made it to the mountains. That's where we are hiding out from the heat too. Love that closing picture of Grace. She is just so darling and how did she manage to have a Cavalier club to greet her. The girl lives a charmed life.

  2. Enjoy your time in Blairsville...so much to see and do!!! Don't miss Ruby Falls, Tullalah Gorge, Neel's Gap Mountain Crossing, and so much more. Also the Blairsville Farmer's Market on Saturday is the one of the best we have ever found...go early it gets crowded :o)))

  3. I'm glad your trip was uneventful and you arrived safely. Sure wish we were there with you, but I'm not sure when or if we'll be able to get out of this sweltering heat in Tampa.

I don't recognize those people or dogs in your post. They must be new folks. I'm sure by now Grace has met our friends Terry and Ralph and their pups.

Nancy had some good suggestions. Also, go to Dahlonaga and visit the gold mine. The town of Blue Ridge has some cute little shops, a train, and a wonderful shop that sells speciality olive oils and flavored vinegars.. yummy...

In Ellijay, don't miss Mercier Orchards. It's a tourist destination in itself.
