Meeting up with Friends

Wednesday, I got back to my volunteering with Habitat.  We are renovating a donated home- pretty close to where we live. Wednesday night we attended a wine and cheese tasting party at "Cheese Please" in Tampa.  This was a gathering of our Fabulous Female group.  We had a great time.

Thursday, our cabinets arrived!  Yeah!
Friday, we met up with some friends from North Port - It was an overcast and kind of rainy day so we decided to meet in Sarasota at the Dog Track- 50 cent admission, Beer and Hot Dogs. It did not rain and by the time we left the sun was peaking out.  We had a good time, won some, lost some :)

Since we were in the area, we decided to hit our favorite Stone Crab place.  Stone Crab is a Florida treat but it is pricey- especially this year.  So, we have not had it yet this season. I hate to pay that much and risk that they will not be good.  Moore's  are always good.

I had stone crab and Catherine had scallops.
The stone crab was excellent.  I like mine hot with butter.  Most Floridians like them cold with mustard sauce.
After an early dinner, we headed home to yet more rain.

We were getting a little down with all the rain and could really use something to cheer us up.  When we got home- we got it.

When we left, the installer was just getting started.  He said he would probably get most of the wall cabinets up.  He got all the wall cabinets, the pantries, and two base cabinets done.  Needless to say- we were really pleased :)

  4. Oh crab in butter....any kind of crab in melted butter is making my mouth water. Mustard on crab oh my goodness no! Glad to hear about your cabinet progress. It's great when they get more rather than less done than you expect.
