A Good Day - Close to the Finish Line

The plumbers showed up early yesterday morning.  By noon, we had  a fully functioning bathroom, kitchen sink, dishwasher and ice maker.

The contractor worked most of the day installing trim around the bottom of the cabinets and under the granite.  He will be back tomorrow to build us a window valance for the patio door and install the transition flooring in the doorways.

Catherine is enjoying our breakfast bar this morning.  We made it large enough to actually be functional.

We are really happy with the results.  Everything came together well and it is great to have a functioning kitchen again.  Catherine tried out a new recipe for quinoa burgers last night.  They did not hold together as well as we hoped but they sure tasted good!

But, the best news of the day is Grace.  The swelling in her face has gone down quite a bit and the vet called with lab results from the aspirate.  It is a bacterial infection likely from a bad tooth.
She will be on antibiotics for a couple of weeks and then we will have to take her to a specialist to get x-ray's, cleaning and a tooth extraction.  Hopefully, that will get her all fixed up.

We are expecting a beautiful week and with renovations winding down we are going to get out and enjoy the sunshine!
