Catching up

Thursday night, a friend came over and we enjoyed a really nice sunset and a Pizza from Mazzaro's Italian market.  It was a very nice evening.

Friday we had an appointment at the Apple store.  Catherine's mac has made a grinding noise a couple of times and we wanted it checked out.  They checked it and determined that it was probably the optical drive but everything is working perfectly now.  That is always the way.  We checked out the offerings for lunch at the mall and decided on "The pub".

I am sure it is a chain but it was kind of fun.  The have a serve yourself beer tap system.  You get a card and it tracks how much beer you get.  They charge by ounce.  It was  a fun way to try several different beers for the price of one. The food was OK- not great.

Saturday, we hit the St. Pete Market againWe got there really early but it was still crowded.  We took Grace and she did fine, but it was kind of overwhelming for her.  Too many yapping dogs and things with wheels.  I think she will stay home next time.

Sunday morning, we took our new bikes to Ft. DeSoto county park.  We did a 10 mile bike ride.  We are are really enjoying our new bikes.
After our ride, we took a walk on the beach.  The north shore beach here is our very favorite.  We usually don't come here because we take Grace to the dog beach.  Since her legs are two short to ride and she hates the cart, today we got to enjoy the "best beach".

It was a great morning.  We enjoyed some football in the afternoon and another great evening on our patio.  Today, we are planning to visit the local bird sanctuary.

  3. WOW! Y'all picked a great location to be. I, too, evaluate activities and places with dog-friendly criteria in mind. New bikes - what fun. Riding my bikes always brings back feelings of being a kid and the freedom of bike riding.

  4. I'm not a beer drinker but by the oz to allow you to try different things sounds like a nifty idea. You definitely have some fine places in your neck of the woods. No wonder you settled there. Looks like a great choice. Keep a list of all the great places to go biking for us. We're bound to be near you at some point. IF it will ever stop raining in Virginia so we can get the things we came her to do done.

  6. Never heard of a serve yourself beer tap before. Interesting concept, and great way to sample more than one kind of beer.

  7. Fort Desoto is really a great place for a bicycle ride. We used to love the north beach too, but noticed the last time that with the erosion and lifeguard stands that were erected, it's not the same as is used to be when we'd always see Spoonbills.
