It has been a while since I posted. Too busy just living life- volunteering, exercising and enjoying Friends.
We joined some friends last week in downtown St. Petersburg for a movie, followed by drinks and snacks. The movie was "Skeleton Twins". It was pretty good but not a light hearted movie.
The Canopy is a great rooftop bar in St. Pete. The views are spectacular and if you go early on the weekdays you can sit in under the nice tents on the sofa. During busy times, they have to be reserved- another great thing about being retired :). We enjoyed some good food and the weather was very pleasant.
We got a really nice cool down this weekend. We had overnight lows in the low 60's and day time highs in the 70's- very nice. Grace was very happy. She loves it when we can leave the patio door open and we did most of the weekend. I love it too- I feel like I am enjoying the outside even when I am in watching football.
Yesterday, after the early games. We decided to head out for a paddle- It has been way too long.
It was a little breezy but it was a really nice paddle.
There were lots of birds out but only this young pelican was nice enough to pose for me.
I guess he liked having his picture taken because he followed us home and supervised us putting the Kayak away.
This week I have been called for jury duty. Catherine has a patient to drive to treatment, and provided I don't end up on a jury, I will do a day at Habitat. We expect many of our neighbors to return this weekend. It has been nice and quiet around here. But, it will also be nice to see everyone again.
Glad you finally got a cool weekend. I know how nice it feels after a long hot summer.
ReplyDeleteThat retirement thing really looks good on you two! :)
ReplyDeleteYour first picture looks like some Caribbean Island. Nice to hear what you've been up to. Jury duty is always interesting but if you are too left leaning, you might not be picked. :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're like us, retired and way too busy. How'd we ever survive our working careers? ;c)
ReplyDeleteStaying busy but no pressure. That's what retirement is all about.

That is some rooftop bar in your first pic - what a view!
ReplyDeleteI've never been called for jury duty in my entire life. I'm not sure how I'd feel about it.
Love it when the temperatures are perfect for having the windows and door open. Our cats love it too.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of your "supervisor."
