It is worth a look back just to see how much better this bathroom looks.
It was kind of fun going through the finished house and remembering the small contributions I made to turning this house into a home for this very nice couple. I hope they have many good years in this home.
Today, I took the truck in for an oil change and tune up. It turned over 100k on our trip out west. We talked about a new vehicle, but this one suits our needs and she probably has at least 50k more in her. We escaped for about $400 with new radiator hoses, a tune up , oil change, air filter, tire rotation and balance. Hopefully, we are good to go for a while.
Tomorrow, I am back on the new habitat build. We have settled back into life in South Pasadena for a while.

What a wonderful thing you have done and all the habitat folks. Whatever the hardship story of this young couple, I know they are thrilled to have a home of their own. I think you couldn't buy another truck for $400. Sounds like a deal. Glad to see your blog on my blog roll. One I posted 90 minutes ago hasn't shown up at all.
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to see someone appreciate the fruits of your labor.
ReplyDeleteThe house looks amazing and I'm sure this couple are still pinching themselves tonight. What a wonderful thing Habitat is!
ReplyDelete100K miles? The truck is just broken in. Our toad (03 Honda Element) has 178K driven miles and another 50K towed miles. Runs like a top.
ReplyDeleteEvery mile I drive in it saves me money over buying a new car. :c)
Very nice you got to go to the house dedication and see the results of all your hard work.
What a good feeling to know you were able to contribute your time and effort to this terrific project .... Seeing the couple who will own the home is a real smile all the way around !!! Good for you !!! The rooms looked beautiful ...especially the kitchen and bathroom..... I always want to comment on how beautiful and colorful the sunsets are in the photos you take from your balcony .....thanks for sharing !!!
ReplyDeleteHow nice that you got to see the finished product and the new homeowners.
ReplyDeleteGood job! And how rewarding to actually see the house handed over to the new homeowners.
