Monday, the painters moved on to our balcony. It has only been a week but we really miss our view. The rain held off for the most part so they are working pretty fast. We are hopeful they will be moving on to the next balcony by Friday.
We did have one incident with the painters. They put tape on one of our hurricane shutter tracks (I don't know why). We did not realize it, and when we lowered the shutter it stuck on one side and then broke. The owner of the painting company got it fixed for us right away but could not stop himself from informing me that "the screws were very rusted and it was going to break anyway". I just smiled and said " I guess it is just my good luck that it broke when your guy put tape on it." Other than that incident, the guys are doing a good job.
Our habitat house also got a nice coat of paint- courtesy of our local coast guard. They came on a volunteer day and really did a nice job painting the exterior -gotta love those coasties!
We put in base boards, interior doors, and kitchen cabinets this week. I think I will only get one more volunteer day on this house and then I will have to find work elsewhere. I am really pleased with the way this one is looking.
That is about all - hope everyone has a good holiday weekend.
Love that little Habitat house! It will make someone a very nice home. Good job!
ReplyDeleteWe Coasties have always gotten involved in the communities we were stationed in. Who better to paint than folks that have the never ending task of painting boats and cutters? :c)
ReplyDeleteThe Habitat house looks terrific! Good thing those painters broke that thingie on your balcony - nice to get it fixed before it became your problem.
ReplyDeleteBoy does that habitat house look wonderful. Love your response to the snide comment about the screws. Hope it gets done so you can get your view back, it's a great one.
